Homeschool Program

Great Work Montessori School values the diversity and community partnerships created when children and families have the opportunity to engage in Montessori pedagogy. We also recognize the importance families place on educating their children in a setting of their choosing. We welcome homeschooling families to become part of our community. At Great Work Montessori School, we want to provide all families with the opportunity to engage in enriching, meaningful work based in service and community experiences. This program is not designed to be an academic program, but instead offers participants the opportunity to engage in the aspects of Montessori education that differentiate it from traditional education-valorization of the personality, nobility of work, understanding society, service learning, and stewardship.

Great Work Montessori offers a one day per week farming project-based enrichment offering where homeschooling participants have the opportunity to work alongside adults and peers in an organic farm setting as well as support younger students and Great Work community activities. Typical activities include, but are not limited to, developing healthy soil, caring for plants, harvesting and preparing produce, creating and building items to improve the farm environment, reading to younger students, working with younger students on the farm, hosting and participating in community events. Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade are encouraged to apply.
