"The old education laid emphasis on teaching by the teacher and learning by the learner. The Montessori method lays emphasis on observation and discovery by the child."
Great Work Montessori School adheres to Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) principles: multi-age classrooms according to planes of development, peace education, intentionally prepared student-centered classrooms with experiential learning activities, three-hour uninterrupted work periods, frequent opportunities to learn outside the classroom, and an individualized curriculum based on continual observation and data collection. The curriculum will meet each child’s interests, capabilities and pace while meeting or exceeding Colorado state standards.
